Welcome to the Week 7 edition of the Prepared SCU Weekly Roundup. In this short Friday digest, we share key information related to SCU’s response to COVID-19.

COVID-19 Dashboard Update

This past week, the University had a 7-day test positivity rate of less than 0.1%, lower than the 1.2% positivity rate in Santa Clara County and 2.4% in California. Track our progress on our COVID-19 Dashboard. 

COVID-19 Booster Vaccine Clinic on Nov 11: Mark Your Calendars!

The Santa Clara County Public Health Department will be hosting a booster vaccination clinic at Locatelli Center from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 11. University faculty, staff and students (including students who live off-campus) are eligible for a booster if they are 6 months out from their second Pfizer or Moderna shot, or 2 months out from J&J. Please bring your original COVID-19 vaccination card so that your booster can be recorded on it. If you do not have your card when you attend the vaccine clinic, you will be issued a new card for the booster. To plan for the day, we highly recommend making an appointment using this form (walk-ups will be accepted). Please note that the County has informed us that the clinic will not have Pfizer children’s doses.

Indoor Face Covering Health Orders 

Indoor face-covering requirements in Santa Clara County have not changed. SCU will continue to monitor County mask requirements, and we will determine what modifications we might make over time. For now, there are no changes to our indoor mask policy.

Exposure Notifications on Prepared SCU

The SCU COVID-19 Dashboard includes updates on potential workplace exposures to notify students, faculty or staff of specific buildings and exposure dates. Due to the high vaccination rates within our community, SCU does not conduct contact tracing internally. Close contacts will be notified by the Santa Clara County Public Health Department if identified as a cluster of positive cases. Vaccinated individuals are not required to quarantine if identified as a close contact. Those individuals should monitor for symptoms. If symptoms do present, individuals must stay home, get tested, and may return to campus if they have tested negative and once symptoms have subsided.

Updated Fall quarter event guidelines have been posted.  Please refer to these when planning events attended by SCU and/or non-SCU personnel.
