A Truman Finalist
SANTA CLARA, Calif., April 4, 2018—Santa Clara University congratulates junior political science major Huda Navaid ‘19 for becoming a finalist for a Truman Scholarship, a graduate fellowship program for students who are pursuing careers as public service leaders.
Students chosen as finalists must have a strong record of campus and community service; a commitment to a career in government or nonprofit/advocacy; communication skills, and a strong academic record.
The scholarship is awarded by The Truman Foundation, named after the 33rd U.S. President Harry S. Truman. This year the Foundation received applications from 756 students, and chose 194 finalists including Navaid.
