Tickets to be Released for Dalai Lama’s Santa Clara University Visit
Santa Clara, Calif. Jan, 27. 2014-- Tickets for His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s first visit to Santa Clara University will be released for public sale Tuesday, Jan. 28 at 9 a.m. The event entitled “Business, Ethics, and Compassion: A Public Dialogue” will take place at the Leavey Event Center Feb. 24 at 10 a.m. and is sponsored by the Markkula Center for Applied Ethics at SCU and Stanford University’s Center for Compassion and Altruism Research and Education.
The Tibetan spiritual leader will explore the world of organizational life, ethics, and compassion in his own remarks and a conversation featuring Lloyd Dean, the CEO of San Francisco-based Dignity Health. Dean leads one of the country’s largest healthcare systems and is a reformer in the field.
Ticket sales will be handled online at scu.edu/dalailama. Tickets cost $130, and are limited to two per order. A number of complimentary tickets were allocated to the Tibetan community and staff, faculty, and students at Santa Clara University and Stanford.
The event is expected to sell out quickly and the public is encouraged to watch the livestream or videos posted later at scu.edu/dalailama.
Attendees are advised to arrive two hours early in order to clear security. Parking is also limited and guests are encouraged to take public transit. The Santa Clara Caltrain station and a VTA bus stop are located near the campus.
