Service focus: Prof. Ribas-Casasayas advises on Spanish educational materials for understanding global warming
Prof. Ribas collaborated with Dr. Jessica Bean of the University of California Museum of Paleontology as reviewer and advisor for the translation into Spanish of open-source educator materials in the project “Understanding Global Change”. The materials, produced with the sponsorship of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, and soon to be released free of charge to educators, students, and the general public, aim to provide a comprehensive perspective of how the Earth system works, as well as how Earth is affected by both long-term natural phenomena and human activity. With the aid of posters and web-based interactive modules, students and teachers can create visualizations of the connections among different processes, activities, and measurable changes.
