Santa Clara University's Neighborhood Prosperity Initiative (NPI) provides an opportunity for undergraduate business students to team with small business owners from underserved areas of San Jose and Santa Clara County with the purpose of improving their businesses through collaboration.
The student teams have been working together with their business owners for the winter and spring quarters. They have identified business objectives, and then executed action plans against those goals.
On June 5 these student groups will deliver the final presentations of their activities. The business owners will also be recognized for their participation. You are cordially invited to join us for this festive event. Refreshments will be provided following the presentations.

About NPI:
NPI has two primary goals which are made possible through generous funding from Wells Fargo Bank and support from the SCU Leavey School of Business, Yacanex Business Group, and Cristo Rey High School. These goals include:
- Provide hands on, community-based learning opportunities for students to use their business education to contribute to prosperity in low income neighborhoods. Through these experiences, students will also gain perspectives on social justice and community engagement, and how they can incorporate these into their lives during and post-SCU.
- Contribute time, energy, knowledge, and creativity, in collaboration with community partners, to activities that foster economic prosperity for individuals, organizations, and businesses in low income neighborhoods in San Jose.
