Mission Priority Examen - Invitation to Outreach Meeetings

February 26, 2019

Dear Members of the University Community,

Our plans to hold inclusive conversations with the University community regarding the Mission Priority Examen are taking shape.

As Fr. Engh mentioned in his State of the University address, the Steering Committee is seeking broad input from across the University community about what we have done, what we are doing and, most importantly, what we can do to live out our Jesuit Catholic educational values more impactfully.

The Steering Committee has now set up a schedule of meetings with members of specific groups including the Planning Action Council, Administrative Leaders Group, Faculty Senate Council, Staff Senate Council, Associated Student Government, and more.

In addition to those group meetings, we are inviting all members of the community to attend one or more of a series of open Outreach Meetings over the next few weeks.  These are opportunities to share your thoughts and ideas about who we are and who we want to become as a Jesuit, Catholic University.

We have framed each Outreach Meeting around one of the topics identified in the document  guiding our self-study process, “Some Characteristics of Jesuit Colleges and Universities: A Self-evaluation Instrument.”

The meeting dates and times are listed below. We encourage you to participate in as many of them as you would like. Please complete the online RSVP form here to let us know of your attendance.

Reflecting on who we are and who we hope to become as a Jesuit, Catholic  university is a terrific opportunity to think about our future together. You all are warmly encouraged to add your voice and thoughts to this important endeavor. All are welcome.

Thank you and if questions arise please feel free to ask us at any time. Your ideas and suggestions can also be sent to examen@scu.edu.

Sincerely,

Tom Plante and Dorian Llywelyn, S.J.
