Dear Staff Colleagues,
As we approach the end of the calendar year, we are filled with gratitude for the outstanding contributions of our staff for your hard work, long hours, and adaptability. It has been wonderful to see our campus reopen to welcome and support our students, and for so many of our colleagues to be together on campus at last.
As a small measure of thanks for your labors, we are pleased to announce that in addition to the scheduled University holidays over Thanksgiving and Christmas, the Acting President and Cabinet have approved a recommendation from Human Resources to provide additional paid administrative closure days.
For our Thanksgiving break, we have added Wednesday, Nov. 24, as a paid administrative closure day. Also, in addition to the regularly scheduled holidays, the University will close for an additional four paid administrative closure days: Thursday, Dec, 23; Tuesday, Dec. 28; Wednesday, Dec. 29, and Thursday, Dec. 30. (As a reminder, due to the need to hold classes Jan. 3, the 2022 New Year’s Day holiday will be observed on July 1, 2022).
Except for essential services, the University will close at the end of business on Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2021, and re-open on Monday, Jan. 3, 2022. Thank you to all those who provide essential services and help ensure the smooth operation of the University at this time.
We hope that this extended time away from the many demands of our work life will be a time of renewal for each of you and your loved ones. May your holiday season be blessed with peace and hope.
Sincerely,
Lisa A. Kloppenberg
Acting President
