Dear Colleagues,
The flexible work schedule pilot program for staff was launched last September and is scheduled to conclude on March 31. When the pilot program was approved, the Cabinet determined that it would be evaluated prior to its conclusion to inform decisions about if or how to continue flexible work arrangements, while meeting the University’s business needs and delivering on our promise to our students.
A key part of the evaluation process will be a survey to gather usage data and feedback from staff employees and managers. The Department of Human Resources will be conducting and administering this survey of all benefit-eligible, non-union staff employees and senior leadership. Thereafter, H.R. will provide aggregate reports to the Administration and the Staff Affairs Committee. Individual responses will be kept confidential by H.R.
I want to encourage benefit-eligible staff to provide their feedback and complete the survey between Jan. 24 and Feb. 4, whether or not you participated in the program. This is an issue that is important to us all. It is in our individual and collective interest to get a complete picture of how the pilot is working. The results will guide our decisions on possible workplace flexibility options going forward.
You will soon receive an email from the Department of Human Resources announcing that the web-based survey is open. That email will provide you with an electronic link to the survey, which will take approximately 5-10 minutes to complete.
If you have any questions about the survey or process, please feel free to contact Agustin Ruiz (aruiz@su.edu).
Thank you in advance for your help in this effort.
Sincerely,
Lisa A. Kloppenberg
Acting President
