Transfer Peer Mentors and Educators support our new transfer students throughout their first year at Santa Clara University. Peer mentors create community during LEAD Week, meet regularly with their mentees throughout their first year and plan activities for their mentoring groups. Transfer peer educators are a source of support and information in the Advanced LEAD Seminar class that introduces transfer students to SCU resources and leadership opportunities.

Hi my name is Mary Xiang. I am from Irvine California. I am a Senior double majoring in Biology and Public Health Science and minoring Sustainable Food Systems. My favorite class I've taken at SCU so far has been BUSN 151 Food, Hunger, Poverty, Environment Immersion which satisfies the ELSJ requirement. It sparked my passion in combating food insecurity and addressing the climate climate crisis through building a sustainable food system.

A fun fact about me is that I get goosebumps when I bite into a crispy apple. In addition to LEAD, I am the Wellness Chair of the Community Development Branch of the Associated Student Government. I am also a student researcher in The Stokes Lab in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry and a research assistant in the Argroecology, Climate Resilience, and Food Justice Lab in the Environmental Science Department. I look forward to meeting all of you!
