The LEAD Scholars Program

Transfer Peer Mentors and Educators support our new transfer students throughout their first year at Santa Clara University. Peer mentors create community during LEAD Week, meet regularly with their mentees throughout their first year and plan activities for their mentoring groups. Transfer peer educators are a source of support and information in the Advanced LEAD Seminar class that introduces transfer students to SCU resources and leadership opportunities.

Hi my name is Karla Hernandez! I am from San Jose, California. I am a junior studying Communication with an emphasis in journalism. My favorite class I've taken at SCU so far has been Intro to Journalism.

A few fun facts about me are that I love reading classics, Star Wars, and pink bows.

In addition to LEAD, I am also a TA for a religions professor and I am currently a part of a journalism practicum class so I am a part of The Santa Clara newspaper here.

I am looking forward to meeting all of you!
