Linda Cameron

Linda was born and raised in Chicago. She holds a BSJ from the University of Illinois and a MSJ from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University. She formerly worked as an editor at Dow Jones Newswires (now WSJ.com) in New York City and as a Senior Writer at  Fidelity Investments in Boston. Currently, Linda is a community volunteer and mom.

Growing up, Linda attended public high school in Chicago and, although she lived many places on the East Coast or in the suburbs of Chicago during her adult life, she always kept a piece of that experience with her. Linda met many kids during high school who had much more difficult family situations than she did, making it hard for some of them to attend college and get decent- paying jobs. This experience led her to become passionate about helping first-generation college students. Linda learned about LEAD Scholars through her work on the Parent & Family Leadership Council. Linda’s son Zach, age 23, graduated from SCU in 2020 with a BS in Computer Science & Engineering and completed his Master’s work at SCU in Engineering Leadership & Management in 2021.

Linda also has two daughters, ages 21 and 19. She spends her free time doing remote volunteer work for an adjunct cancer care center in the Chicago area called The Wellness House, walking her dogs, reading and traveling.
