Colleen Chien was on the Center for American Progress Action podcast discussing the "second chance gap"

Colleen Chien spoke with Professor JJ Prescott and Rebecca Vallas of the Center for American Progress about her "important and eye-opening" work that "has been fueling state momentum to make criminal record-clearing automatic for everyone who’s eligible." Listen here and check out Professor Chien's new initiative: www.paperprisons.org.

"Colleen Chien's research 'has been fueling state momentum to make criminal record-clearing automatic for everyone who’s eligible, instead of just the lucky few who can afford to hire a lawyer.' Her research is 'so important and eye-opening. For starters, we’ve got somewhere between 25-30 million people around this country and that’s a conservative estimate who under current law are already eligible to get records cleared but have not been able to for one reason or another.'
