Professor of Law, Dean Emerita, and Special Assistant to the Vice President for University Relations

Lisa Kloppenberg serves as Law Professor & Dean Emerita as well as Special Assistant to the Vice President for University Relations at Santa Clara University. She previously served as Acting President, Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Dean of the School of Law between 2013-22. She is a nationally renowned scholar in Conflict Resolution and her latest book, The Best Beloved Thing is Justice, was published by Oxford University Press (2022). Lisa is dedicated to our Jesuit mission of educating the whole person: heads, hands and hearts for service to others. She has prioritized increased access and affordability as well as increased diversity, equity and inclusion at Santa Clara University. In her time at SCU, she also fostered stronger connections to Silicon Valley and provided more experiential learning opportunities for students.
