FAQ

Where can I find my exam dates?

The full exam schedule is linked in the navigation bar under “Exam Schedule.” Final exam dates are listed in Workday at the time of registration. All exam dates (midterms/quizzes/finals) should also be listed on your course syllabi.

What is the reschedule criteria? How do I reschedule an exam?

The Student Bulletin lists the full exam policy, including reschedule criteria. Exams can only be rescheduled due to:

  • Administrative conflicts (such as two exams scheduled within 24 hours of each other) - the deadline to submit a reschedule request due to administrative conflicts is posted to the academic calendar
  • Emergency personal conflicts (serious illness, medical emergency, extraordinary circumstances, etc.), in which case documentation is required

To request a reschedule, please fill out this form. Reschedules must be approved prior to the exam date, barring emergency situations. Failure to participate in a scheduled exam without prior arrangements or permission from administration will result in zero credit for the exam.

Students should never contact professors regarding exam day attendance or other administration issues, as this may jeopardize the anonymity of your exam.

Where can I find my AGID (anonymous grading ID)?

Santa Clara Law administers all graded assessments anonymously with use of a 6-digit anonymous grading ID (AGID). This number is unique to each student and stays with you throughout your time in law school. Students must use this number as their identifier on all exams and should never include their name or any other identifier. Instructors are not to inquire or learn of a student’s AGID prior to final grades being posted.

AGIDs can be found in Workday. A guide to finding your AGID is linked here.

Do I have to use a laptop to take exams?

Yes - unless you have an accommodation precluding you from use of a laptop, all students are expected to take their in-class exams using Examplify, our exam software. More information and technical guides are linked in the navigation bar under “Student Resources.” Running mock exams is the best way to make sure you are familiar with the software and that your machine is fully compatible. The password for all mock exams is bronco5

Are graded exams returned to students? How can I review a completed exam?

Faculty may elect to return exams to students via the exam return process. All returned exams are sent to students individually at their scu.edu email addresses from law-return-review@scu.edu. Exams provided by professors to our office for return are listed on the Exam Availability List.
