Expanding Access for Students Through the Haciendo Caminos Initiative

JST is partnering with the Haciendo Caminos initiative, funded by the Lilly Foundation, to expand access for Hispanic and Latino/a young adults to graduate education in theology and pastoral studies.

Haciendo Caminos is dedicated to fostering greater accessibility to graduate theological education among Hispanic Catholics born or raised in the United States. Through its partnerships with eighteen Catholic institutions of higher education and in collaboration with local ecclesial organizations, the initiative helps to facilitate the formation of pastoral leaders at the graduate level. Cecilia Titizano, director of the Latina/o Theology and Ministry Leadership Network at JST, commented on the partnership, “Haciendo Caminos is an excellent opportunity for young Hispanics to pursue graduate education and prepare themselves to do what they love the most: serve our Lord by working in ministry.”

For more specifics on the initiative and how it supports students, please see below.

Haciendo Caminos Initiative

JST is one of the eighteen Catholic institutions of higher education participating in the Haciendo Caminos initiative, funded and administered by the Lilly Foundation. Haciendo Caminos supports Hispanic and Latino/a young adults who choose to pursue graduate education in theology and pastoral studies, to serve in leadership roles in parishes and communities throughout the United States.
