How To Apply

Need some assistance with our application process? We're here to help.

Priority Deadlines

Apply by the priority deadline to receive priority consideration for JST Scholarships.

Fall priority deadline: Apply by February 1 to hear back by March 15.
Spring priority deadline: Apply by September 1 to hear back by November 1.

Missed the priority deadline?

International applicants must apply by May 1 (Fall) or September 1 (Spring) due to the additional time required to comply with visa requirements.

STD program applicants must apply by March 1 (Fall) or September 1 (Spring) to receive full consideration. STD applications received after these dates will be considered on a "space available" basis only.

All other applicants must submit their applications by our final deadlines of July 1 (Fall) and December 1 (Spring).

Selecting a Program

When applying, you must first select what program you wish to apply to. To apply to the MDiv or MTS programs, you must have a bachelor's degree. To apply to the ThM, STL, or STD, you must have a graduate degree in theology.

To make an informed decision, learn more about our various degree offerings.

The Application

First, go to slate.scu.edu/apply to create your account in our online application portal. Then make sure to select "Jesuit School of Theology" to start your application.

Please proceed through the application in the order from top to bottom on the lefthand sidebar. Some options may not appear if earlier sections are not completed.

Once you have made your program selection, the "JST Scholarship" section will ask if you would like to apply. In order to view the scholarship application instructions, select "Yes".

If you are an international applicant and have completed the "Personal Background" and "Academic History" sections, you can fill out the "International Applicants" section, which is for language proficiency purposes. Even if you indicate that you received a degree from an institution where English was the primary language, you may not be automatically eligible for a language proficiency waiver. Only applicants with degrees from Australia, Anglophone Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, United Kingdom, and United States may request a waiver.
