Aiden Taylor grew up in Seattle, WA where he discovered an early passion for math, technology, and creation. He continued to pursue these interests in high school, interning at a software engineering company, getting certified in quantum computing, starting projects in machine learning, and conducting research in computational neurobiology. He was also a computer vision lead for his school’s robotics team, volunteer at the local Lifelong foundation, AP Scholar with distinction, and Valedictorian. Aiden spread his love of learning as a calculus tutor at his high school and as a teaching aid for underprivileged youth at a local elementary school. Other academic passions of his include linguistics, foreign languages, and neuroscience. Aiden has also played the guitar for 11 years and was twice the captain of his high school's varsity tennis team. Many of his fondest high school memories come from his interactions with the friends he made during these extracurricular pursuits. As part of the Johnson program, Aiden wishes to develop himself both academically and personally. As an electrical and computer engineer he hopes to develop a deep and holistic understanding of the computing stack. He is especially interested in AI and quantum computing and hopes to pursue these areas in higher education and in the workplace. Through these burgeoning fields, Aiden wishes to advance technology in ways that benefit people and lead to solutions for societal problems.
