April Cohort Launch: AI Self-Paced Course
Instructional Technology continues to offer a self-paced course about teaching and AI, available on Camino to all SCU faculty. The course covers the basics of generative AI and strategies for developing learning activities and assignments with AI. If you would like to participate this month, use this link to enroll in our April cohort of AI Projects for Instructors.
Focused on developing the skills to bring AI into the classroom, in this asynchronous, self-paced course, faculty will complete four hands-on projects using ChatGPT to create learning materials and interactive classroom activities that you can use in your teaching. The course is cohort based to maximize opportunities for sharing ideas with colleagues across campus. Upon completion of all requirements, you will receive a $150 stipend and a letter of completion. Use this link to enroll in the course and get started!
The course includes videos of SCU faculty sharing ways they incorporated generative AI into their courses. Here is a preview:
Spring Instructional Technology Programming
This quarter, the Instructional Technology Group is offering 30-minute, in-person tutorials on using new instructional tools to support student learning and engagement.
Engaging Students with Poll Everywhere

Students can use Hypothes.is to learn from one another as they collaboratively take notes and ask questions of shared materials. This hands-on tutorial will teach you everything you need to know to begin using Hypothes.is in Camino. See our group calendar to sign up.
NameCoach
The NameCoach tool can help build a sense of community and is designed to support your inclusive teaching practices. Integrated in Camino, NameCoach allows faculty and students to listen to name pronunciations as often as necessary to feel confident they are addressing each other correctly.
