EXPLORING BLACK HERITAGE

Accra, Ghana for Igwebuike Students

Thursday, August 21 - Wednesday, September 3, 2025
Cost: $2700

This unique immersion to Ghana invites students on a liberatory journey to reclaim cultural wealth and deepen their understanding of ancestral roots. As they explore historical sites such as the Cape Coast and Elmina Castles, students will witness the enduring spirit and resilience of those who came before them. Engaging with local historians, artisans, and community leaders, they will connect with the vibrant heritage preserved through Ghanaian music, dance, spirituality, and storytelling. The group will be hosted by The Arrupe Jesuit Institute, a center for research, formation and social action that seeks to identify, analyze and propose solutions to issues of concern in Ghanaian and African societies.

This transformative experience not only honors the legacy of the African diaspora but also empowers students to embrace their identity with a renewed sense of pride, strength, and collective purpose.

Application open Nov 22 - Jan 26
