Gratitude
This is the season for giving thanks and celebrating our blessings. At the Ignatian Center, we are so gratified when we hear the ways that our programs transform participants and impact lives. We hear it from SCU alums, like Assistant Professor of Latin American and Caribbean History Mateo Carillo who has been incorporating his Immersion experiences with the Kino Border Initiative into his scholarship.
We hear it from current SCU students such as LEAD Scholar Saron Weldemariam ’26, who credits her Costa Rica Immersion experience for transforming her perspective. Knowing the impact of our programs encourages us to develop them continuously to meet new student interests and community needs.
As we close out the Fall quarter, we are thrilled to announce the 2023-24 Ignatian Fellows - we have 27 fellows in all! When they return, we know you will be excited to hear about their fellowship experiences, knowing they are blessing the world through their wisdom and service.
A Deepened Commitment to Justice
We are so excited to announce that we have 27 amazing Ignatian Fellows this year! These students have participated in formation sessions throughout the Fall quarter in preparation for their Winter quarter work with a community partner of their choice. Please join us in congratulating the 2023-24 Ignatian Fellows!
