Developing Leaders for Others
Effective leadership is inseparable from good decision-making. This is true at all times, and is all the more pertinent in times of crisis. This is also at the heart of Ignatian leadership -- laying a foundation of reflection and discernment upon which to foster the development of the next generation of leaders.
We are excited to share with you two tangible manifestations of this. The first is a series of reflections on leadership and vocation we recently featured on our LinkedIn page. The second is our new cohort of Ignatian Fellows who are beginning their preparations for the January launch of their virtual placements with various partner organizations.
The Ignatian Center is dedicated to developing our students as leaders for others. These are just two examples of the work we do to foster a spirit of discernment to support the success of future leaders who will make an impact - here, there and everywhere.

We are so excited to announce that we have 14 amazing Ignatian Fellows this inaugural year. These students participated in formation sessions throughout the Fall quarter in preparation for their Winter quarter virtual work with a community partner of their choice. Please join us in congratulating the 2020-21 Ignatian Fellows!
MEET THE 2020-21 IGNATIAN FELLOWS
On November 16, 2020, Santa Clara University hosted a two-part virtual event in honor of the anniversary of the Salvadoran Martyrs of the UCA. The event was co-sponsored by the Ignatian Center for Jesuit Education, Campus Ministry, and the Office for Diversity and Inclusion.
WATCH RECORDINGS OF THE EVENT
We are excited to share that Santa Clara University has relaunched the search for its new Vice President for Mission and Ministry. This is a new position at SCU in light of a restructuring approved by President Fr. O'Brien and the Trustees back in the Spring and placed on hold in light of the uncertainty of the pandemic. This position comes about in response to SCUs Mission Priority Examen and represents an exciting new direction in the elevation of mission work across the institution.
