As I enter my second year as Executive Director of the Ignatian Center, I look on the Center’s mission with a sense of gratitude for all that has been and hope for what is to come. We don’t have to look too hard to find things that cause worry and division in today’s world; so opportunities for thoughtful reflection and respectful dialogue are especially precious. By shining light on our Ignatian heritage, the Ignatian Center provides a way of contemplating and acting in the world that is practical, universally relevant, and transformative. |

I am so proud of the work the Ignatian Center does on behalf of SCU to form tomorrow’s leaders who will strive to make our world a better place. Last month, we hosted the second annual San Jose Immersion Trip for first-year students. The trip provided students an opportunity to meet new classmates, learn about the social and economic reality of San Jose, and deepen their understanding of SCU’s Jesuit tradition of community engaged education.
