Gabriela Hamm serves as Program Director for Arrupe Engagement. Her primary role is to facilitate the creation of and maintenance of meaningful relationships between SCU students and community partners. She works closely with faculty, students and a variety of community partners.
Gabriela graduated from SCU with her B.S. in Environmental Studies in 2020. During her time as a student, her participation in the Arrupe Engagement program helped her discover her passion for social justice and community engagement. She saw just how powerful community engagement can be for personal growth and community health. Since graduating she has cultivated that passion through her work as a Bilingual Tutor at Columbine Elementary School in Boulder, Colorado, a school known for it’s commitment to helping ESL learners succeed. She brought her passion with her to Spain, where she worked as an English Teaching Assistant at Illipa Magna Secondary School in Alcalá del Río, Andalusia, Spain.
Gabriela is also passionate about environmental stewardship, food justice, and sustainable living. Outside of work she enjoys outdoor activities such as rock climbing, playing ultimate frisbee, skiing, and backpacking. She also loves painting, yoga, and game nights.
