Payroll Schedule

Important Payroll Related Notes:

• SCU Paydays are the 7th (for the pay period from the 16th to the end of the previous month) and the 22nd (for the pay period from the 1st to the 15th of the current month). When the 7th or the 22nd falls on Saturday, the pay date will be on the preceding Friday, and when the 7th or the 22nd falls on Sunday, the pay date will be the following Monday. 
• Completion and Approval of timesheets are due by noon on the designated due date.
• When the timesheet due date is on or before the end date of the pay period, hours should be estimated based on the employee's regular work schedule for the remainder of the pay period. Once the timesheets are reopened for data entry, estimated hours can be adjusted as needed. 
• Payroll Advices are available on Workday
• Employees not set up with direct deposit as a payroll payment election will receive live payroll checks via US postal mail.

The timely and accurate processing of the University's semi-monthly payroll is a collaborative process between employees, managers, and the HR team. As a reminder, all non-exempt/hourly employees must accurately record their actual time worked on a daily basis via Workday.  In addition, they are expected to start their scheduled meal breaks no later than the end of the 5th hour of work each day and to accurately record in Workday when they started and returned from each meal break. All non-exempt/hourly employees also are authorized and permitted to take a rest period of 15 minutes for staff employees and 10 minutes for student employees for every four hours worked. Insofar as practicable, the rest period should be taken in the middle of the four hour work period.
