Delegation and Visitor Resources

Visiting Santa Clara University

Visit requests with a specific scholarly interest should be arranged within the relevant SCU department or School/College. Visits must be requested at least four weeks in advance through the SCU International Visitor Request form.

Delegation Visits

Global Engagement accommodates delegation visits when:

  • Visitors have requested to meet with senior administrators, including the President, Provost, or Associate Provosts
  • Requested meetings involve multiple units on campus.

Visits are most productive during the academic year. Most people are away from campus in the summer. No visits can be scheduled during University holidays and closures.

The SCU academic calendar runs on quarters for Undergraduate and Graduate programs. The Law School and Jesuit School of Theology run on semesters.

Quarterly terms run from mid-September through mid-December, early-January through mid-March, and late-March through mid-June. See the Undergraduate Academic Calendar for specific dates.

Getting Around Campus

Located 2.7 miles from Downtown San Jose, Santa Clara University is near the southern tip of the San Francisco Bay. SCU is accessible by three international airports and public transit.

SCU's campus is small and walkable. We encourage you to wear comfortable clothing and shoes that will facilitate walking. In compliance with ADA/504, please direct any accommodation requests to your campus host at least 72 hours before your arrival. SCU does not provide assistance with hotel or transportation arrangements to campus.

Translation Needs

Groups in need of translation should make independent arrangements for translation services. If meetings will include a translator, please inform Global Engagement in advance to allow for additional time. SCU is unable to provide translation services.

Tour Groups and Study Tours

Global Engagement does not organize international academic visits to campus initiated by third-party tour companies or consulting firms. Global Engagement does not organize "study tours" for large groups.
