Communications and Events Student Assistant

Communications and Events Student Assistant Overview: 

Global Engagement seeks a Communications and Events Student Assistant for the entire academic year. The Communications and Events Student Assistant will assist the Communications and Events Coordinator in creating new and unique designs for SCU Global Engagement and supporting events planning and communications. Examples of Global Engagement events include: Global Engagement Photo Contest, International Education Week, and iExchange program events.

Main Duties:

  • Create new and unique designs appropriate for the Global Engagement brand
  • Maintain Communications and Events Coordinator’s student group contacts list
  • Assist with Global Engagement event organization and setup
  • Promote Global Engagement events and programs through email and digital signage
  • Study, evaluate, and adhere to the SCU and Global Engagement brand guidelines

Administrative Duties:

  • Other administrative tasks and special projects as assigned

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Undergraduate student
  • Design and/or Communications experience strongly preferred
  • Familiar with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Canva, or other software which supports graphic artist work
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong detail orientation and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Availability to work up to 5 hours per week, with occasional flexible shifts based on specific event needs
  • Ability to work during full academic year
