April Associate Provost Global Engagement Update
This spring quarter we are excited by a number of initiatives taking place in Global Engagement.
We just completed SCU’s inaugural Global Partnerships Viewbook to enhance collaboration with international partners and the work we are doing to increase global opportunities.
Heather Clydesdale, Assistant Professor of Art and Art History, is working with us this spring quarter 2024 on SCU’s global strategy related to current trends impacting faculty and students engaged in international teaching, learning, and research. Interested in knowing more? Feel free to reach out to Heather directly at hclydesdale@scu.edu.
As well, I am so honored to be part of the work that SCU is doing to host the prestigious Opus Prize and have returned from travel to meet with truly inspiring nominees. Watch for more details about Opus Prize nominees in July and mark your calendar now for Opus Prize Week, November 11-15, 2024.
Finally, this spring you can see the photos from the annual Global Engagement Photo Contest on exhibit in the Library this month - until May 1, 2024. Stop by and see them on the second floor.

Study Abroad Family Orientation
Spring term is the predeparture phase for students studying abroad in summer and the next academic year, and part of this program is our predeparture program for families. On March 27, over 450 students and families attended the Study Abroad Family Orientation online. Throughout the session our team covered a range of topics aimed at providing families with essential insights and resources to support their students during their international experiences. Topics covered included: billing, costs, financial aid, health and safety protocols, obtaining passports and visas, understanding housing arrangements, and outlining support resources before departure and upon return. Visit our Study Abroad Family Resources page for more information.
