Center and museum launch collaboration

The Ethics Center and the Tech Museum of Innovation launched their collaboration, Technology and the Ethical Imagination, at an event last weekend held at the downtown San Jose museum.

The launch included a guided public interaction with a Data String exhibit in the Biodesign Studio, where visitors engaged with ethical questions around synthetic biology.

Highlighting the event was a talk by biomedical gerontologist Aubrey de Grey, "Can We Use Technology to Live Forever, and Should We?"   Brian Patrick Green of the Ethics Center provided a response to de Grey's presentation, which was attended by 90 people.

Technology and the Ethical Imagination tries to make ethical reflection on technological innovation as commonplace as our fascination with science behind it. The collaboration will include events, installations, and online resources.
