This project involved a study to determine the optimum placement of a solar thermal cell array to help heat the SCU pool. The goal was to determine the most cost- and energy-efficient means to offset the natural gas used to heat the pool during sunny summer days. The study included a plan for connecting the current water control system to the solar panels, and calculations to determine the number of solar panels needed, associated costs, and the estimated efficiency of heating the pool with the solar panels.
