Vacuum Forming Machine
The vacuum forming machine can form plastic sheets around objects to create a form. In the Maker Lab, we have a My Yard Formart 2 vacuum former and a Centroform SV 1217 vacuum former.

Training Required: Basic Training and Vacuum Forming Training
Workspace: Formart 2- Sheet sizes: 500x300 mm, 420x300 mm, 300x300 mm, and 300x205 mm;
SV1217- Forming area 12" x 17"
Materials: Thin plastic PET and PE sheets
Material Fees: We have a limited supply of plastic sheets available. Let us know if you want to make multiple forms.
Common Terminology: Buck or Mold- the form or object the heated plastic sheet is forced against using a vacuum in order to shape the plastic.
