Dear Friends of the School of Engineering,
These first five weeks of the Spring Quarter have seemed to fly by. Seniors have been busy finishing up their capstone projects as staff prepares for our 52nd Annual Senior Design Conference. I personally am looking forward to experiencing it in person for the first time.
Below you can watch a video that spotlights one of our Senior Design groups that is investigating the use of artificial intelligence in music therapy. Also, learn about the new Healthcare Innovation and Design minor offered. Read how the BioInnovation and Design Lab is working to improve people’s lives affected by dementia and Alzheimer’s, and so much more!
Wishing you all the best for the remaining quarter,
Elaine

Senior Design Conference is May 12!

| Yuhong Liu, Yi Fang (both Computer Science and Engineering), and Subbu Vincent (Markkula Center) have received a $137,500 award from The Knight Foundation. These funds will support their project "Building a Live Chinese Language News Discussion Repository to Track and Combat Active Disinformation Campaigns." This project seeks to use popular news discussion sites in the Chinese American community to build a repository of actors, posts, categories, and behavioral patterns of disinformation operations targeting Chinese Americans around health and election issues. The repository will be a resource for mitigation efforts and will have insights from API footprints in social media platforms. |
