Kitts leads collaborative NSF project to build institutional capacity for external technology partnerships

Chris Kitts (Mechanical Engineering), Eric Tillman (Chemistry & Biochemistry), and Mary-Ellen Fortini (Sponsored Projects) have received an award from the National Science Foundation to support their project on building institutional capacity for external partnerships.

Dr. Chris Kitts (Mechanical Engineering), Dr. Eric Tillman (Chemistry & Biochemistry), and Dr. Mary-Ellen Fortini (Sponsored Projects) have received a $399,965 award from the National Science Foundation to support their project "EPIIC: Building Institutional Capacity for External Partnerships."

In this project, Santa Clara University joins forces with 3 university partners to collectively enhance their capacity for building external relationships that drive technological advancements within their innovation ecosystems. The team will focus on (1) improving operational maturity to facilitate external partnerships, (2) expanding professional development to equip faculty and staff for active roles in external technology collaborations, and (3) fostering engagement initiatives to manage and strategically evolve partnerships over time.
