Tom Wierzchon has 29 years of automotive and military system design and integration experience. He recently retired from BAE Systems where he was a Technical Director leading the creation of an innovation lab supporting future vehicle electronics and computing architectures that leverage modular open system approach (MOSA). Tom also supported internal research & development projects and developed technical strategies for Ground Vehicles and internal long-term investments. Over his tenure, he supported several military hybrid electric drive powertrain projects and held functional oversight roles for the Mechanical Engineering and Hardware Design organizations. Before his time in the defense sector, Tom spent 12 years working for Chrysler Corporation in Auburn Hills, MI on assignments in engine design and testing, transmission and driveline engineering, motorsports engineering, vehicle dynamics, digital pre-assembly, and high-performance vehicle design.
Tom holds a BS and MS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and Oakland University in Rochester Hills, MI, respectively. He is also completing his AS degree in Enology at Las Positas College in Livermore, CA.
Tom and his wife Sandra live in the Willow Glen neighborhood of San Jose, CA and enjoy a variety of outdoor activities as well as travel to new places.
