Assistant Professor
Aya Inamori Williams is an Assistant Professor in the Counseling Psychology Department with a specialty in Child & Adolescent Mental Health. Sponsored by the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship, Williams earned her PhD in Clinical Psychology from UC Berkeley. She completed her clinical internship at UCSF and post-doctoral research at Northwestern University.
Williams is most passionate about research on bilingualism and how we can leverage multiple languages to improve mental health, especially for immigrant families. With the next generation of clinicians at SCU, Williams is excited to tackle questions such as how to effectively provide mental health services for multilingual and multicultural communities.
