Gerardo R. López is a Professor in the Department of Educational Administration at Michigan State University. He is currently Editor-in-Chief of Educational Administration Quarterly (EAQ)—the premiere scholarly journal in the field of educational leadership. He is the current president-elect of the University Council for Educational Administration (UCEA). He has been faculty at the University of Missouri-Columbia, Indiana University, and Loyola University in New Orleans. His research interests focus on issues of (im)migration, parental involvement, and social justice for Latinx and marginalized communities. His current research focuses on creating pathways for effective Latina/o/x parental engagement through community organizing and empowerment.
