Learn a little bit more about Gerald E. McDonald:

Gerald McDonald was born in Fort Fairfield, Maine in 1919. He graduated from Boston College in 1947, earning a BA in English. Dr. McDonald was a professor at Santa Clara University from 1947-1955 and again from 1962-1981. He taught English, public speaking, and education. He also served as chairman of the Education Department from 1962-1970 and served on the SCU faculty senate as well. 

Dr. McDonald passed away on June 8, 1981. A mass in his honor was held in the Mission Church and he is buried at Santa Clara Cemetary.
