The John B. Drahmann Academic Advising and Learning Resources Center was established in the 1999-2000 academic year. After celebrating it’s 15th year, the staff and faculty of the Drahmann Center have committed to our vision of “Success for Every Student.”
Every student’s journey is unique, and may benefit from modifications and support from several campus resources. We are proud to be one of those resources and work closely with our colleagues across campus to develop a network of support for SCU students.
The Drahmann Center is home to several support staff and student assistants, as well as the University Advisors who include full time staff advisors and faculty who serve 5-15 hours per week as academic advisors in addition to their teaching and research workload.
The History of Drahmann
The John B. Drahmann Academic Advising and Learning Resources Center was named in the 1999-2000 academic year. Known as The Drahmann Center on campus, we are proudly named for the former Dean of Sciences and Professor of Physics. Dr. Drahmann was passionate about helping students, and dedicated considerable time and energy long before a centralized location was established for advising. He was known as “Mr. Santa Clara” to generations of students, and his ethics and values are embedded in today’s vision for the Center: Success for Every Student.
