Give to the Collection

The de Saisset Museum currently does not have an acquisitions budget and relies on gifts of art and artifacts from donors to build the collection. Although the collection is wide-ranging, we are actively seeking to build our collection of prints, paintings, photography, and sculpture by late 20th century and contemporary artists, particularly those with ties to the Bay Area. We are interested in collecting works by artists who have shown with us through our temporary exhibitions. We are also accepting historical objects related to California's past that support our permanent exhibition.

Acquisitions Process

All potential gifts to the collection are reviewed and voted upon by the museum's Collections Committee. The Committee meets 2-3 times annually to consider potential gifts within the context of the museum's Collections Management Policy.
