On Monday, October 21, Religious Studies, Graduate Program in Pastoral Ministries and Jesuit School of Theology faculty as well as two Religious Studies minors joined together for a panel on Religion and Race in the 2024 Election. These faculty and students brought various perspectives and demonstrated the multiple ways that Religious Studies, theology and ethics, among others, can speak in meaningful ways to contemporary events. The event, held in the Benson Parlors, was well attended by faculty, staff and students, who asked thoughtful questions.

Panelists included faculty members Nicholas Hayes-Mota, Julie Rubio, Paul Schutz, Chris Tirres, Bryson White and RS students Hydeia Wysinger ’25 and Denae Rivera ’25. The panel was moderated by Christopher Tirres.
