Bjørn Thyrring '20 will be heading to Harvard Divinity School to pursue a master's degree in theological studies in the Fall.
Bjørn is a graduating senior and a member of the Religious Studies community here at SCU. As a major in the department, Bjørn’s academic exploration has been focused on the relationship between the political and religious realms of modern society and how their relationship can be improved upon. His interests have led to the pursuit of a master’s degree in theological studies—with an emphasis in politics, ethics, and religion—at Harvard Divinity School beginning in the autumn.
Bjorn was awarded the Theodore J. Mackin Senior Thesis Award by the Religious Studies Department. He was also awarded SCU's 2020 Nobili Medal. The Nobili Medal is awarded to the male graduate who is judged outstanding in personal character, school activities, and overall contribution to the University.
