Religious Studies Major Cameron Heon '20 plans to deepen his understanding of interreligious studies

Cameron is the winner of the 2020 Religious Studies prize, awarded to the Religious Studies student most proficient in the study of religion. He wrote:

Following graduation, I will spend a year volunteering as the Religious Affairs Associate at the Tanenbaum Center for Interreligious Understanding in New York. This position was offered to me through the Jesuit Volunteer Corps and I am beyond excited to become more intimately involved in the effort to create a more pluralistic society. Over the next year, I hope to deepen my understanding of interreligious studies and learn how this field operates within the real world. After I finish my time with the Jesuit Volunteer Corps, I am eager to return to graduate school where I plan to continue pursuing my passion for comparative theology.
