
Michael Rende received his undergraduate degree from University of San Francisco with majors in Philosophy and Political Science, and his Ph.D. from Marquette University in Religious Studies. He has published a book entitled Lonergan on Conversion. His current scholarly interests include Plato and Aristotle and their approach to epistemology; as well as, Augustine and Thomas Aquinas on faith and reason. In the contemporary context, this interest translates into investigating the relationship between scientific empirical knowing and affective/spiritual knowing.
Michael has taught courses on the History of Christian Tradition and Doctrine, Theology of Marriage and the Family, Christian Spirituality, Christian Social Ethics and Philosophy of Religion.
Michael was born and raised in San Francisco, as was his wife, Jane. They have two sons and two grandchildren.
