Curriculum Vitae (CV)

Tyler van Wulven's research centers on 19th and 20th century social and political philosophy. He is principally concerned with the way in which the developments of modern science, the Enlightenment, and capitalism inform ongoing social pathologies like alienation, authoritarianism, anomie, and disenchantment, as well as potential solutions to those pathologies. So far, his research has centered on Hegel’s philosophical contributions to the study of modernity, as well as his philosophical descendants, including Marx, Dewey, the Frankfurt School, and Arendt. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Kentucky.
