Carl Schultz

Assistant Teaching Professor

Originally a native of the Philadelphia suburbs, Carl Schultz has performed and studied throughout the world.  Schultz has worked with modern jazz heavyweights Ray Vega, Art Lande, and Brad Goode as well as appearances with Jazz legends such as Mickey Roker, Billy Taylor, and Dave Brubeck.  Schultz can be heard on albums such as The Glenn Miller Orchestra: Live in Tokyo, his own 2021 release ACT reACT, Ian O’Beirne’s Dreams of Daedalus, and was a performer on the Rocky Mountain PBS special, Colorado Music Hall Of Fame: 20th Century Pioneers.  Schultz served as the Emerging Artist in Residence at Penn State's Altoona campus and currently resides in San Jose where he is the Director of Jazz Studies at Santa Clara University.
