2022-2023

  • September 27, 2022: Sara Krehbiel of SCU, “All the Ways to Color a Graph.” Sara brought wonderful energy and an ability to ground us in simple concepts before increasing the level of complexity.
  • October 18, 2022: Liz McMahon and Gary Gordon of Lafayette University, “The Joy of SET: Mathematics in a Card Game.” Known for their book about the card game SET, Liz and Gary gave our first tag-team talk and it was wonderful.
  • December 6, 2022: John M. Lee of U of Washington, Seattle, “The Curvature of Space.” Perhaps the most mathematically sophisticated talk of our year, Jack’s talk was also crystal clear and quite popular.
  • February 7, 2023: Vincent J. Matsko, independent puzzle designer, “Algorithmic Puzzle Design.” Formerly of USF, Vince entertained us with surprising insights into puzzle design.
  • May 9, 2023: Josh Laison of Willamette University, “Puzzles in Geometric Graph Theory.” Josh brought our BAMA year to an end in great style!
