The History department welcomes a new tenure track colleague, Jeannette Estruth, who specializes in American History, with a particular emphasis on the Silicon Valley.

Jeannette brings over fifteen years of professional experience in the field of American History, including editorial positions at Harvard University Press and the Radical History Review. Jeannette received her doctorate in History, with honors, from New York University in 2018 and was a finalist for the Herman E. Krooss Prize for Best Dissertation in Business History. Her research has been supported by the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, the American Historical Association, the Kluge Center at the United States Library of Congress, the Huntington Library, the University of Virginia Miller Center, the Fulbright Fellowship, and the Berkshire Conference, among others. Her writing has appeared in venues ranging from the Washington Post to the Business History Review. She is completing her book manuscript, Think Different: Silicon Valley Activism and the Making of Modern American Politics, which explores the history of social movements, the technology industry, and economic culture in the United States.
