The Graduate Programs in Pastoral Ministries welcomes applicants from around the world; however, international applicants are not eligible to receive federal financial aid.
International Applicant Requirements
- English Proficiency Exam: TOEFL (score of 90 or above) or IELTS (score of 6.5 or above) are required for international students who completed their post-secondary education in a language other than English. Duolingo testing is also an option in which you would indicate Santa Clara University Graduate Programs as the recipient. Duolingo (score of 110 or above) has the option of practices tests and can be found at this link. However, all applicants may be asked to provide further evidence of English proficiency as needed.
- International Education Evaluation: Transcript evaluations are required for all international transcripts. Please note, transcript evaluations must include the degree equivalency and U.S. GPA equivalency. We recommend the course-by-course evaluation report. We would like you to use World Education Services, Inc. (WES) to evaluate your transcripts. Please ask the evaluation service provider to send the report directly to the Graduate Programs in Pastoral Ministries at Santa Clara University. The address is Graduate Programs in Pastoral Ministries, Santa Clara University, 500 El Camino Real, Kenna Hall 323, Santa Clara, CA 95053-0335.
- Proof of Funds: United States visa regulations require proof that sufficient funds are available to finance your travel, living expenses, and program study. Please refer to the Global Engagement website for an up-to-date estimate of the cost associated with a full year of academic study in the GPPM.
Note: International applicants are not eligible for federal financial aid.
After the receipt of the official acceptance letter, the student should refer to the Global Engagement/International Student Services office for the I-20 documentation to apply for a F-1 student visa and then contact the GPPM office for further assistance.
