Suzanne Neuhaus, M.A. presently serves on the Restorative Justice Committee for the California Catholic Conference. She is the board vice-chair of Healing Hearts Restoring Hope, in Los Angeles. Now retired, Ms. Neuhaus worked for the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) from 1988 to 2015 primarily as a Parole Agent and Victims Services Specialist. Her years of service as a peace officer inspired her to take a stand in support of a more responsible and balanced approach to justice.
Ms. Neuhaus is a graduate of Loyola Marymount University and the College of Notre Dame; she has provided training and technical assistance on Social Justice, Grief and Loss, Bereavement Ministry, Morality and the Formation of Conscience, Forgiveness, the Impact of Crime on Victims, Early Childhood Trauma and Delinquent/Criminal Behavior, Victim Offender Dialogue (VOD) in Crimes of Severe Violence, Restorative Justice, and Death Notification. She continues to volunteer as a VOD Facilitator for CDCR bringing persons harmed together with the responsible party in crimes of severe violence to participate in healing dialogues.
