Rani graduated from Santa Clara University in 2017 with a BA in Communication and Women’s & Gender Studies. Upon graduation, she moved back to her hometown, Seattle, and began working at a local education nonprofit called Rainier Scholars. She currently works as a Partnership Manager Equal Opportunity Schools, a nonprofit that focuses on educational equity in Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate programs. Her strong passion for racial, gender, and educational equity led her to apply to a Master's of Education Policy program at the University of Washington which she began in the Fall of 2020. Rani hopes her work continues to contribute to systemic educational change so that Black and Brown students can thrive.
