Maria Del Socorro Castañeda-Liles (Religious Studies, '98) Informed by a commitment to engage students, academics, and grassroots leaders in the cultivation of a critical praxis, my goals as a teacher/scholar include research, teaching/mentoring, professional service, and community service. As a professor, I strive to provide rigorous teaching and mentoring to my students, particularly those from underrepresented groups. The courses I teachat SCU include Sociology of Religion, U.S. Latina/os and Lived Religion, and Mexican Popular Catholicism and Gender.

Anushree Dasgupta (Communication major with double minors in Sociology and Ethnic Studies, '10) Working on her Master degree in Sociology at Columbia University in New York city. Anushree did senior thesises on Third Cinema techniques used in Bangladeshi movies and intercultural interactions of Indian and Indian-American college students in Santa Clara University. Prior to her arrival at Columbia University, she worked in human resources and has experiences in social media and senior centers. Currently Anushree's research is focused on the depiction of charismatic authority in literature, affirmative action in Indian education and a comparison between Ramayana and Harry Potter.

Responsible for supporting attorney team on various cases involving patent infringement litigation. Married to Shannon Brown (SCU alum '98 - English), have 2 kids, Grace Marisol (4) and Elena Marisay (1). Trying to save money and pursue an MA in Ethnic Studies. Want to help open the door to new opportunities of learning and understanding the value of tolerance and multi-cultural awareness.

Anthony Toney (Political Science, '10) Anthony is now working for City Year: Los Angeles. He gets to assist teachers and tutor/mentor kids of South Central LA at Compton Ave Elementary School. Anthony has been discussing about what needs to be done in Black/Latino communities and is now actually participating in making a change in that area.
Alberto Torrico (Political Science, '92) Alberto is an active member of the Democratic Party. Elected in 2004 as California State Assembly Member representing District 20. Alberto was selected as guest speaker at the Second Annual Ethnic Studies Distinguished Alumni Speaker Series at Santa Clara University on May 5th, 2007. His talk entitled "Civic Engagement in California Today" was a great success and had a transformative effect on those who attended.
Phung Truong (Psychology and Ethnic Studies, '09)
Phung is an attorney at Justice at Work Law Group in San Jose (www.justiceatworklawgroup.com). She specializes in employment law and workers' compensation, with a focus on minority workers and small business owners. Phung received her Juris Doctorate degree from Santa Clara Law in May 2012. Phung is also the First Princess for Miss Vietnam of Northern California 2013.
